CYCLE LANE

It is a marked cycle lane on the road, in one way or both ways.

Cycle lanes are considered protected if separated from the rest of the roadway by curbs or bollards that prevent cars occupation. There are also bus and bicycle lanes.

SIDE PATH LANE

It’s a bike lane built on the sidewalks. It is separated from traffic but integrated on the walkway. It has some sort of signalling and / or physical or visual element that segregates itself from pedestrians.

CYCLE TRACK

It is a roadway constructed specifically to be used only by cyclists.

CYCLE PATH

Shared use lane for pedestrians and cycles segregated from traffic that runs through parks, gardens, etc. There may be some type of signals separating cyclists from pedestrians.

CYCLE ROAD

One way roads with 30 km/h speed limitation, generally, for shared use by bikes and traffic. It has specific signalling.
